Field Notes

Description:

The green woodpecker is a medium sized woodpecker with characteristic green wings, beige/green torso, red cap, and white eye surrounded by a black patch. I've spotted this one everyday when walking to my old campus where it hangs around with its two fledglings - hoping to get a better shot of all three soon! At the moment I've seen all tree more often on the ground than in trees.
