thanks guys...for identifying it as a damselfly... how to zero down to species name ? any entomology book ?

This is a Damselfly. Dragonfly eyes meet at the top of the head. Damselfly's eyes stick out on stalks. Also Dragonfly wings are held horizontally whereas Damselfly wings are held vertically above the abdomen. :)
