Description:

This common soldier beetle is about 9-12 mm (1/2 in) long and has a round black spot on the pronatum and an oval black spot on each wing cover.

Habitat:

Fields of flowers, meadows, prairies, old fields, especially those containing goldenrod.

Notes:

May serve in areas as important pollinators.
