Field Notes

Description:

I saw this caterpillar while apple picking after a big storm. It was crawling along a path of mud and straw. It was fuzzy with a black center and orange sides.

Habitat:

The weather at the time was sunny, but humid because of the rainstorm the night before. I was in a hilly area with lots of apple trees, and the ground was very muddy.
