Description:

Found outside my window hanging on an old flower of Monarda 'Jacob Kline' in my garden.

19 mm - A large Bee Fly with a distinctively marked wings and large, wrap-around eyes. Larva is a parasitoid of Xylocopa (Carpenter Bees) .
