Clever chicken! It was probably the safest place to be!
He looks so small for a one year old & maybe too young to hunt effectively? Leopard cubs don't become independent until around 22 months & usually stay with their mothers for more than 2 years so maybe he is an orphan & has been forced to look for easy pickings. http://www.wildlife-pictures-online.com/leopard-information.html Is that a live chicken perched on his back?

nice one leopards have been increasingly coming into the city limits in mumbai too.this is because man is encroaching upon its territory ,so it has no choice left but to venture in for food.this has been happening too often out here.
Good work done by you Diganta Gogoi to save wildlife..
Last night 1 year old Leopard was caught inside the fowl house and later it was shifted to Kaziranga National Park Assam.......
