Description:

These were all over the beach on South Padre Island for weeks in spring of 2010.

Habitat:

Sandy beach of the Gulf coast, at the very southern tip of Texas, on an island just off the mainland.

yeah, I know.. I should have phrased that better. I didn't realize they were a colony of individuals though..weird.
