Description:

Sarcodon squamosus is a species of fungus in the genus Sarcodon. This stemmed tooth fungus with strongly scaly cap and dark, purple-brown colouration , with "teeth beneath the cap that run down the top of the stem and when young are a beautiful but exceedingly pale lilaceous grey. The pictured old and dry specimen, was spotted near Makrirrahi village, Pelion mountain, Greece.
