Field Notes

Description:

A long jawed orb weaver spider. Male. Possibly Mesida sp. by the few gold scales on it's abdomen.
It's fairly large pedipalps indicate that it is a male.
It's length is also quite long, about 15mm.
Look closely and you can see that super thin silks (thinner than thread) are supporting the weight of the spider.

Habitat:

High plants of Kinabalu National Park, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

My first Tetragnathidae spider spotting in Kinabalu Park. The third photo is from my father. >>>Map accuracy : 1km.
