Description:
From the family Tettigoniidae. Known variously as katydids, bush-crickets or long-horned grasshoppers. The family contains more than 6,400 species, most of which live in the tropics. Tettigoniids may be distinguished from grasshoppers by the length of their filamentous antennae, which may exceed their own body length, while grasshoppers' antennae are always relatively short and thickened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tettigoniidae

Spotted in mixed lowland equatorial rainforest (freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp)
Notes:
Host plant identification pending. March 2013. A local informant identified this plant (specifically the fruit) as "buah sereh hutan".
