Field Notes

Description:

"The American Robin or North American Robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory songbird of the thrush family." Source Credit: Wikipedia. OK, OK -- it's just a robin and robins are common where I live. This picture is special because it's from first the batch of photographs I shot with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7, one of the first GPS-enabled point-and-shoot cameras. The camera geotags photos, but not very reliably -- typically one out of two photos is geolocated incorrectly! Worse, the camera introduces a LOT of chromatic aberration and noise into almost every photo (see tree leaves in the background).

Habitat:

Landscape plantings in the community of Hollin Hills, Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Related Resource: http://hollinhillscommunity.blogspot.com/
