Field Notes

Description:

small, brightly coloured frog, about 1.5" (4cm), can be toxic

Habitat:

Lowland rainforest, native to Central America and parts of South America

Notes:

I spotted 11 green and black poison dart frogs during my 10 days at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica. Most of them were spotted on one trail, so my last day there I hiked it for the third time and I got lucky and saw 4 more.
