Description:

The Mardo is a small marsupial mouse like creature. It is also known as the yellow footed Antechinus. Mardo is its western Australian aboriginal name.

Yeah most of WA animals are known as their aboriginal name. Quoll = chuditch, bilby = dalgyte, bandicoot = quenda :)
