Description:

Asplenium ceterach is a small European fern with chaffy leathery fronds. The furry backside of the fronds emerge silvery, then change to a rusty brown as the spores mature and dehiss. The resulting "rusty back" is where this fern gets its common name.It is one of the commonest ferns in Greece. It was spotted growing in a rock wall in Zagora village, Pelion mountain, Greece.
