40x lens X 10x ocular =400 magnification. It's in a science lab with a built in high resolution camera.
Lucky, would it not be 40X magnification? I am a regular confocal microscope user and the type of picture and size of the alga suggests to me 40X. 60-100X is the maximum magnification you get from most regular microscopes-in any case, congratulations, it is a very beautiful picture :-)
