Field Notes

Description:

Smooth lilac cap with slight inrolled margin. Lilac gills attached with slight notch. Lilac stipe with mycelium and leaf debris attached to base. Slight sweet smell. Pale prink spore print.

Habitat:

Growing in leaf litter in thick forest, mainly oak and pine.

Notes:

Similar looking species of Cortinarius can be separated by their rusty orange spore print. Never eat wild mushrooms without expert identification.
