Field Notes

Description:

A somewhat larger cicada (2.5 cm) that has brown wings instead of the usual transparent ones. The body is green.

Habitat:

These are found throughout the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador. This one was under a light on a cement platform.

Notes:

Not as common as the small bright green ones with transparent wings. I suspect these are normally deeper in the jungle and not drawn to the lights.
