Field Notes

Description:

Outer wings brown with single white mark on lower wings. Inner wings orange with darker markings

Habitat:

Typically a wood's edge species. Found feeding on early fragrant Viburnum species in teh Viburnum collection of The Holden Arboretum

Notes:

One of 1000's of Butterflies migrating through on 4/16/2012. Strong SW winds pushed large numbers of Red Admirals, Question Marks, and Commas through area. Warm spring day, temps near 80F
