Description:

A type of passionflower but not sure the sub species

Habitat:

growing in my friends side yard, it took over one of their trees and is growing all over their fence

Passiflora serratifolia is hardy in zone 9-11. You may be in that range near Houston. The leaf is a single saw-edge-leaf; thus the common name of saw leaf passionflower. I cannot accurately see the number of lobes on your plant, but it is not a single saw-edge-leaf; so it does not match the suggestion above. The native passiflora incarnata has a 3 lobed leaf. The non-native passiflora caerulea that is common in Texas has a 5 lobed leaf.
