Field Notes

Description:

Gorgeous red flowers on this plant that I saw quite a few of in the Puebla area of Mexico. I asked around about them, and discovered that they are propagated by simply taking a cutting and sticking it in the ground, and they also have various uses as both a medicine and a poison. The hummingbirds love them.
