Description:

A freshwater shellfish that resemble a tiny lobster. Also known as a mudbug. According to Cajun legend, crawfish are descendants of marine lobsters

Habitat:

Found in the mud of fresh water bayous.

Notes:

On July 14, 1983 Law designated Crawfish as the Louisiana State Crustacean.
