Field Notes

Description:

tiny several mm long emerald irridescent be

Habitat:

Numerous individuals swarming Geranium flowers in bloom in a garden in the full sunshine. They were very busy crawling under the flower anthers deep in the flowers. They moved from flower to flower and sometimes more than one would land but no two tolerated sharing one flower at any given time. This little guy is sitting still long enough to get photographed because she is cleaning her wings by alternating side swiping them against her abdomen (photo sequence)
