Congratulations Paul, your beautiful Eurasian Griffon Vulture has been chosen as Spotting of the Day for International Vulture Awareness Day:
"Today is International Vulture Awareness Day, and we have chosen this beautiful Eurasian Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus) as our Spotting of the Day! International Vulture Awareness Day takes place on the first Saturday of September, and grew from Awareness Days run by the Birds of Prey Programme in South Africa and the Hawk Conservancy Trust in England. Vultures are an ecologically important group of birds currently facing a range of threats. The main cause of decline for the griffon vulture population is the consumption of poisoned baits set out by people.

Paul, your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
