Field Notes

Description:

This worm represents a highly diverse species of marine flatworms. They, because of their brilliant colors, are a warning to predators that they are toxic, and at a minimum distasteful.

Habitat:

I have spotted these in coral and sandy areas in all oceans. This spotting was off the island of Chuuk (formerly known as Truk Lagoon), which is a part of the Federated States of Micronesia.

It was found about 40' deep.
