Field Notes
Description:
It is a small marsupial frog species, about 4 centimeters. Is surely related with Gastrotheca marsupiata, and shares their terrestrial habits, but lives in a different habitat, and is likely to be an undescribed species for science.
They sing only during persistent rain from deep crevices between the rocks on the ground, so it is very rare to find. Like other marsupial frogs, probably deposited fertilized eggs in the back of the female. Born tadpoles are deposited in temporary ponds, probably when the cracks where they live are flooded by the rains.

Habitat:
Inhabits cloud forests an montane rainforest between 2,300 and 2,600 meters high, on the ground, in cracks formed by natural landslides, and between the roots of ferns (The third photo shows the habitat)
