Field Notes

Description:

This is a glass frog that had eluded scientists until 2009, when it was described to science. Now appears to be a fairly abundant species in some places and has been reported in Peru, various parts of Bolivia and Brazil.

Habitat:

Inhabits streams of montane rainforests of east slopes of the Andes and lowlands of Bolivia, Peru and Brazil.

Notes:

In certain areas of Bolivia inhabits dry forests, as near Coroico, where I found this specimen.
