Description:

One of my favorite Hover Flies spotted on the Honeysuckle in the garden. While it is feeding, one can get quite close provided you do not make sudden movements!

Notes:

In the first photo three ocelli can be clearly seen where the two eyes meet at the top. Explanation in the link below:
