Description:

Tiny. Looks like a chiton because of the pattern on the back but definitely isn't! In the third photo I have placed the leaf with the organism on it in the palm of my hand...turned upside down it appeared to be black with legs (if any) held close to the body. I could not make head or tail (literally) of this spotting.

Habitat:

On a hedge. There were many of these.

Ah! Thanks Sergio...there were ladybirds around and 1-2 other beetles too.
Sukanya, this looks like a ladybeetle pupa, but it is hard to say just from the photos.
