Field Notes

Description:

WS 75-105 mm. Apple green wings marked with sleepy-looking eyespots outlined yellow, white and black. HW has long, slightly twisted tails, Hosts: Deciduous trees including beech, cherry, hickory and willow.

Habitat:

Near woodlands and meadow.

Notes:

Thanks to my neighbor Jeff Hall who spotted this Luna moth on his house and called me up. I brought back the moth in a container and took photos on the deck.
