Field Notes

Description:

Wormlike body. Legs can be seen in the third photo...a cropped version.

Habitat:

Village Saiboni near Barasat. On a slab in a garden with many, many fruit trees. The soil is detritus rich which is food for millipedes.

Notes:

This behaviour is described as aggregation...

To me it would seem to attract predators that could take mouthfuls...not really a case of safety in numbers.
