This large beetle flew to the light over our dinner table outdoors. Is it some kind of rhinoceros beetle?

Great shots! This one can pinch. We have a superficially similar one in this part of Mexico. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/13689097/fullscreen
Bayucca thanks for coming through again!
Scarabaeidae, Dynastinae, Oryctini, Heterogomphus sp.. I think it is not possible to safely ID these ones without genital dissection or DNA.
Wilson, I appreciate the effort you made trying to identify this beetle. They aren't easy, with quite a few similar looking species.
Wilson your ID looks close, but that species is only found in Southeast Asia and Australia. Thanks for the suggestion. Destini, I think you're right with it being something in Dynastinae. I hope someone recognizes it at least to genus:-)
