Field Notes

Description:

Red body with black markings along side. No wing inner coloration as in Band-winged Meadowhawk. Head coloration closest to Ruby Meadowhawk for species that should be in area.

Habitat:

Found in grassy open area with scattered sumac at edge of forest.

Notes:

Tamarac NWR location: along North Country Trail
