Field Notes

Description:

A small brightly coloured irridescent fly with banded stripes on abdomen about 4-5 mm long. I often see them during the summer months in the garden.

Habitat:

Mostly seen on leaves and in damp areas. This one was spotted sitting on a Dahlia leaf

Notes:

Introduced species from Eastern Australia
