Field Notes

Description:

Long green fronds of about 6cm (I think) when the water returns. When the tide is out it looks like green slime

Habitat:

Anchors itself wherever there is a structure such as driftwood or rocks or shells in the intertidal area of a salt-water lagoon. This one was in full sun in clean water. The depth of the water was up to 40cm approx when the tide was in at this point but all variations of low tidal depth were common. I was unable to tell if it is endemic to areas of beyond intertidal but I suspect it is

Thanks Sanjay. I finally got back in and fixed the identity
Thanks Sanjay, now that I know what to search for I have discovered a local entry about that algae and It seems you are correct. I will read it in the morning, late at night now, Thanks for the assist!
Actually Gerard I am not sure the second image is the same thing. I might make it a different spotting
It is quite common around the lagoon here. I might add another image to give this one better perspective
