Field Notes

Description:

A large goat antelope have extend back , thick , curl horns on the head.

Habitat:

They are found at elevations ranging from 4000-14000 feet.

Notes:

Sichuan takin are vulnerable. The factors are hunting and habitat loss. Takins were conserved in Pyin Oo Lwin National Kandawgyi Garden, Myanmar. We studied on behavior, activity budget and space utilizing on this takin in captive. An ethogram was construct including feeding, resting, sleeping, standing, salt licking, social, reproductive behavior and others. Standing in small water pool was also observed. Why did they stand in water? They spent resting most of the day and fallowed by standing and feeding. Breeding group has an male and three females but reproduction was not success from 2010 to 2017. Which factors were influence on breeding in captive mammals.
