Tree Sparrows
Passer montanus
22.2933, 114.17
Field Notes
Habitat:
The Tree Sparrows were in front of the Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, besides the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. They flocked around a local tourist who fed them some of her lunch: rice. They seem to be not only well-fed but also comfortable with the hordes of tourists around. Other birds nearby, such as the spotted dove, seem to be equally at home in a completely urban setting. The clock tower area has a small garden with palm trees, bushes and a water feature.
