Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful geometrid with brown wings and dark submarginal areas. A dark brown line bordered the submarginal area. The hind wings were a bright yellow becoming brown near the trailing margins. the under side of the wings showed a dark patch.
Wing span was about 40 mm.

Habitat:

suburban garden

Notes:

I spotted a similar moth late last month but did not get a shot of the hind wing. This spotting is to record a shot of the hindwing. something I could not get for my previous spotting, late last month.
Larvae live on eucalyptus and bottle brush (Callistemon)leaves.
