Field Notes

Habitat:

Seen basking on a log in a bog.

Notes:

This is the boggiest area of Kalamazoo, there has been a recent push to clean the waters by installing filters in the road drains, but this is contaminated with oils, rubbers, and various other debris from decades of runoff. These waters are also home to leeches and frogs.

I must admit, I know little of turtles. I'll try to get a better shot as I'm at this park often, and they seem to bask just as often.
