Description:

This winter moth is generally found west of the Cascades in Washington, Oregon and California. Its larva have a large variety of host including oak, fir and hemlock. As a winter moth is doesn't have the predators that other moths have. This species is being monitored for possible range expansion and outbreaks.

Habitat:

Attracted to light. Spotted on the wall of a store.
