Description:

Tall tree looks like there are ribbons hanging from it.

Habitat:

Bon Farmhouse, village Kewzing. A remote village in Sikkim. Himalayan foothills. Lush vegetation. Himalayan foothills.

Notes:

(Greek pteron, wing, and karya, nut)

Many many thanks, thaptor. Indeed it is Pterocarya ...and it is native to Asia. Plus it occurs in Sikkim. So happy to know the name. First time I saw this tree....with its ribbons.
Looks like Pterocarya (Juglandaceae). Don't know if look-alikes exist 8no botanist, myself). It is the fruitstalks hanging down.
