Field Notes

Description:

If you look closely you can see a little brown sliver opening and closing is wings. This is a brown butterfly that flew away and flapped its wings repetitively when I tried to get close to it, but soon touched back down on a leaf, still opening and closing its wings. I was too far away to see the pattern on the inside and outside of its wings. It blends in very well with its surroundings.

Habitat:

Secondary tropical rainforest in Singapore
