@jgorneau. Sure thing! FYI we will be posting live from Peru from June 26 to July 12. We'd love to have you join our mission and help us identify any moth species we find! We'll be sure to be on the lookout for some good ones while we are there! Species Spotlight: Peruvian Amazon http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8910217
Amazing shots! Could you please add these and any other moths you may have to my mission, Moths of the Americas? Thanks! http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8841449
Not looking for, be aware of! Traits are tricky to ID and toxins! At first sight you might think of an Automeris sp., but there are at least 40 species of Automeris in Peru!
@ bayucca. Thanks! Do saturniidae caterpillars have certain common traits that you can use to identify them? If so, what should we look for?
Most probably a Saturniidae moth caterpillar. Unfortunately there are tons of thems around!
