Spotting Video
Field Notes
Description:
Hi ShannaB, this is the hostplant of a Blue Argus or Blue Pansy Butterfly . Just uploaded it today , sorry I've been busy preparing for our school closing program.
I have no idea of its scientific and common name but we call it in our place Sentimiento. It has purple small flowers clustered on a long corrugated upright stalk. The flower is full of sweet nectar and is edible to both human and insects. The thick leaves have a cool feel when you touch it and are used as a traditional medicine curing minor toothache and insect bites.
Habitat:
Open spaces ,sandy to loam and clay loam soil.
Notes:
I don't have a quality camera but the video of this spotting might give more details of the appearance of this plant.
