Field Notes

Description:

I saw this tree (or possibly a hybrid of two trees???) growing in Bequia, in the Caribbean. No one was sure what it was called, and we asked a lot of people! One person suggested African tulip, but the flowers didn't look quite the same to me, and the fruit seemed very different. People also agreed that the fruit is not edible.

Habitat:

Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Caribbean
