Field Notes

Description:

This black and yellow caterpillar was laying inside a tent made by two leaves glued together with silk. It is around 3 cm long. I noticed that the leaves were slightly separated, and removed one of them to get a better view. After I photographed it, I put the leaf back. When I came back later, the caterpillar had rebuilt the tent.

Thank you Willie and Luis. When photographing, I always do my best for not to harm my "models". I was really concerned about this one until I noticed it was ok (at least apparently...).
nice spotting Asergio, I wish I could help you with your id of this caterpillar. Perhaps my just commenting will be enough to draw someone in who knows caterpillars of the world better then I
