Species ID Suggestions

Zebra Cricket

Nisitrus vittatus

Comments (18)

It is a nymph of Nisitrus sp. Very common in Borneo (and awesome)
Great image, could also be similar to the nymph of Tropidacris cristata http://www.photographersdirect.com/buyers/stockphoto.asp?imageid=1803172 but also might be a katydid nymph.
similar but no id http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/enlarge/striped-cricket-leaf_pod_image.html
looks more like a cricket - but its really cool
A Zebra grasshopper, most definitely. Great spotting.
Such a cool find. It looks like a zebra!
This is an amazing creature. Please fill in about the habitat where you found this specimen under "Habitat". Just describe the location there. Thanks.
Great spotting no doubt but could you please write something about it -like the kind of place where it was spotted, its size, etc. Thanks. Amazing little creature !
I would call it Zebra grasshopper...(there are some) and place it under Arthropods. There is a similar one ( yellow and black)Zebra Grasshopper Zebratula flavonigra Take a look: https://www.flickr.com/ This one may be a related species...such dramatic colouration...thank you for sharing.
