Field Notes

Description:

Looks like common toad. Gray, green body with a hint of yellow on the bottom tips of his toes.

Habitat:

My backyard living in the damp fallen leaves under our oak tree.

Notes:

A strange thing was when I caught him he had a red ant biting him on his front leg. I had to use tweezers to pull it off it had such a tight grip. Then I noted that the same leg was deformed the foot was on backwards so to speak. This did not impede his ability to get around. After his photo shoot we returned him to our toad house. :)

Welcome to Project Noah Strawberry Rain. I hope you enjoy this amazing place, and I hope to see many spottings from you in the future. Nice spotting of your frog. We can rule out a tree frog as I do not see the pads on the bottom of the feet that would be a tell tale sign.
I love how gentle you were with him or her. Nice job!
