Field Notes

Description:

This critter looks very much like the one I spotted a week ago ( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/12042642 ). At first, I thought it was an insect infected by fungi. But looking closely to the photos I took today, it can be seen that its appendices are evenly distributed, and it is bilaterally symmetrical which, I think, is not compatible with a fungal infection. So, I guess it is some kind of larva (an extraordinary one, I must admit). Will anyone dare an ID on this?

Wonderful spotting Sergio!
I think this might be the larva of a Coccinellid beetle.
The projections seem waxy like a mealy bug but I cannot find any in yellow
A caterpillar is a larva, of course. I just didn't dare to say it! :-)
