Thanks Argy! The colour indeed was bugging me... I should have at look these... At least there's agreement on the genus! Thanks again Ashish and Satyen too.
Ashish is right. Tabanus nemoralis. (6 segments of the abdomen, touching eyes, furred)...was a bit confused because horseflies look a bit bolder from a top view than from this sideview.
