Description:

tiny, light green spheres laid in a row down the middle of the leaf, about 7mm

Habitat:

temperate forest

Notes:

I spotted this on a leaf while hiking the Bruce Trail at Queenston.

Interesting! Which plant was this found on? Even a family could help quite considerably with these galls.

They do look similar. They could be related. Just today actually I saw something more similar to your spotting, 4 small reddish green balls on leaf on a rose bush, but they weren't all on the main vein.

Probably some kind of Gall Midge. I've seen them produce galls on leaf midveins, but never so evenly spaced.
